At Genequip, we’re not just in the business of heavy equipment, we’re in the business of powering possibilities. And 2025 has already given us a fantastic start as we continue strengthening our presence in Guyana.
Connecting & Innovating in Energy
For the first time, we participated as an exhibitor at the Guyana Energy Conference & Supply Chain Expo, hosted at the Marriott Hotel from February 18–21. This event served as a valuable platform for us to engage with top-tier professionals and organizations from the energy and logistics sectors.

We were excited to share how Genequip’s technology and services are playing a pivotal role in modernizing operations and driving progress. It further highlighted our presence within Guyana and our capabilities to serve the wider region. Our team had engaging conversations with industry leaders and explored new opportunities for partnership and innovation, all while highlighting how our equipment and expertise support a more efficient, future-ready energy landscape.

Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers
At Genequip, we believe the future of our industry lies in the hands of today’s students. That belief came to life at the University of Guyana’s 2025 Open Day and Job Fair in March, where we engaged with students from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
Our presence was focused on providing students with insight into the heavy machinery industry and helping them understand the exciting career paths that can be embarked upon. Our representatives shared advice, experiences, and information about career opportunities within the company, particularly for mechanics and technicians, both entry-level and experienced.
It was an inspiring exchange that reaffirmed our belief in investing in local talent and creating pathways for young professionals to thrive in high-demand technical fields.

Investing in Skill Development
Since 2016, Genequip has worked closely with the Government Technical Institute (GTI) to support their Agricultural Machinery Program and other technical training efforts. Our partnership remains a cornerstone of our education outreach.
This long-standing collaboration was formally renewed on March 6, when GTI Principal, Tiffanie Charles Persaud, and our Technical Trainer, Del Joseph, signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the institute’s boardroom.
This renewal reflects our shared dedication to equipping students with the technical know-how required to succeed in industries like agriculture, mining, construction, and quarrying. At Genequip, we understand that empowering people with practical, hands-on experience is key to building a resilient and capable workforce.

Assembling Excellence and Sparking Teamwork
Here at Genequip, building human capacity is just as crucial as building machines. That commitment unfolded as our team stepped away from their regular duties and entered an exciting Menegotti Cement Mixer Assembling Competition in March.
Designed to foster teamwork, sharpen technical skills, and encourage cross-departmental collaboration, the event brought staffers together in a fun, hands-on way that perfectly aligned with our growth-focused culture.
The teams competed for cash prizes in order to set a benchmark for how many mixers could be assembled within a limited time frame. It was all about efficiency under pressure - a core value at the heart of everything Genequip does.
After an intense session of assembling, Julian Vasquez and Dharamraj Harry claimed first place, walking away with the $70,000 grand prize. Close behind were Mandy Agard Agard-Gill and Jusel Duggan, who secured second place and a $40,000 prize for their impressive teamwork. Third place went to Rabindra Kumar and Mohamed Hallim, earning $20,000 for their strong showing. Meanwhile, participation prizes of $10,000 were awarded to Ossi Gunraj and Vishal Seepersaud, and Melissa Caitan and Jehanne King for their enthusiastic involvement and team spirit.

Building Momentum Across Industries
From the rewards of these engagements, we remain focused on what matters most: innovation, empowerment, and long-term impact.
Managing Director, Schelte van Dijk, expressed that Genequip has embarked on a strong start for the year in the agriculture, construction, and mining industries. Consequently, the efforts of all departments are poised to deliver optimal support to our evolving clientele.
“We successfully commissioned the John Deere combines after approximately eight years of not having those available. We are introducing a new high-efficiency spreader that does not damage pre-germinated rice, as well as a new cannon sprayer that is both PTO (Power Take-Off) and hydraulic driven.”
Recently, a new Sandvik DX800 Surface Drill was also commissioned for Laurentian Mining quarry operations, along with high-quality Sandvik rock tools.
“With the high demand for aggregates, Genequip is now supplying another high-efficiency surface drill, which outperforms its competitors by producing more meters drilled in a single year, thus allowing quarry operators to go over one million tonnes of production,” he added.
As we continue into 2025, we are excited to build on this momentum of supporting national development through expertise and enduring partnerships. Along with the rollout of new services to support all industries, we are also poised to establish a state-of-the-art hydraulic hose shop locally.
Stay connected with us as we continue to power Guyana’s progress, one solution at a time.
